CU Strategic Planning is honored to announce that Shirley Senn, our Chief Consulting Officer and former owner, is stepping into the next chapter of her impactful career. Over her ten years with us, Shirley has been an integral part of our team, helping CU Strategic Planning secure over $1 billion in awards and grants for CDFI credit unions. Together, we’ve empowered credit unions to drive transformative change in underserved communities, a legacy we proudly continue.

Shirley is now dedicating her time and expertise to preserving and creating small credit union charters—an essential mission for the future of the credit union movement. Her transition reflects a personal commitment to this cause, not a layoff or organizational consolidation. CU Strategic Planning has grown our team since becoming a Callahan & Associates company, and we remain dedicated to the shared achievements built with Shirley.

“Shirley’s research and vision have supported CU Strategic Planning’s success and growth over the past decade,” said Stacy Augustine, president of CU Strategic Planning. “Her unwavering dedication to underserved communities and her passion for preserving small credit unions as essential community resources are an inspiration to us all. Every member of our team stands in support as she embarks on this critical mission.”

Shirley will remain an advisor to CU Strategic Planning, and we will refer credit unions with endangered charters to her. In recognition of her commitment, CU Strategic Planning will also make a donation to the Arnia Foundation’s dedicated fund for CU Safe which empowers credit unions to prevent sexual assault and support women escaping domestic violence and human trafficking.

As we celebrate Shirley’s contributions and inspiring new mission, our team of employee-owners is proud to carry forward the impactful work she helped establish. We are grateful for her leadership and excited to support her in this vital role within the credit union movement.
